Hello Farid and to the club.

You're actually proposing a major job. The sat. nav. computer resides in the boot together with the video module and radio module. You will therefore need the looms to interconnect these and to link them with the head unit (the screen and controls) in the fascia.

Look out for a suitable donor car being broken for parts would be my advice.

I would personally advise to not bother unless you reaaaaaaaaally want to keep the car's head unit original. The factory highline system is well out of date now and not sure if you can still get updated maps for the satnav for them?

Far easier to install a xtrons android double din unit such as the one in mine. They are available from Julian at androidice.co.uk https://www.androidice.com/car-speci...-75-mg-zt.html

Julian Bailey the owner of android ice is quite an active member on the 75/ZT facebook groups and had a ZT himself until recently.

These units are up to date, modern and have the latest satnav maps on them usually IGO satnav, and you can fit other things such as DAB radio, reverse camera, dash cam which plays on the head unit, digital TV etc. they also play DVDs which is handy if you have screens in the head rests for the rear passengers.

Fitting one of these units is a lot easier than going for a full retrofit of the highline system.

You can; I bought what appears to be a genuine officially labelled disc this year. But you're quite right Rick to point out that the factory system is now 20 years old. On the other hand its simplicity of operation can be considered to be an advantage. It's one thing to keep an existing high-line system going but I agree Rick that installing one in a car from scratch needs careful consideration.

Ive been down this route and its a real pain in the behind and plus I fitted HK too. You have to buy the complete loom from top to bottom, strip out half your car to route and fit the cables plus splice into the loom otherwise when you set off the system does not know you are moving.
The system is totally out of date as in cumbersome inputting the destination etc and also your heated rear window does not have the same connectors as a hi line one for the radio aerial.
I purchased one of these and it looks stock, has a thousand features and is simple to fit and use.
