Relax Lordy - things usually work out much better when people are not trying hard or are worried and are just being themselves.

I feel very positive about how my life turned out - it's all the result of me going to an interview just for the interview practice before applying for the job in a company where I wanted to work. I turned up late for the "practice interview" and was made an offer that I just couldn't refuse. 32 years later, here's still smiling.

Former Conservative Employment Secretary Norman Tebbit told how his how his father got on his bike to look for a job during the Depression of the 1930s, during a 1981 speech in Blackpool.

In 1982, I went to Birmingham on my bike to go to a jobs fair and found a stand from The Royal Free Hospital in London. I was invited for interview and got the job.

You have to do what ever it takes
