I've recently had something similar.

Bought this from Matt @ DMGRS:

The most difficult bit was splitting the metal band from near to the engine. I used a Dremel type tool - slowly and gently.

Now working fine. Temp is steady at 88 degrees (from the on board diagnostics) and the temp gauge sits steadily at 9 o'clock.
