Default Garage Lighting

I am lucky enough to have a double garage with a pitched roof. At present there are two strip lights (fluorescents). These have both stopped working. Ive replaced both lights but only one tends to flicker on temprementally. Wondering if damp has somehow got in?

Anyway, I’ll probably have to get an electrician out. Just wondering if its an opportunity to imrove/upgrade lighting? Has anyone changed from old school bar lights to something else ie like LED?

try the starters, these probably fail more often then the tube,
mind you 2 tubes in a double garage, does not sound like a lot

replace the tubes with daylight tubes, they are brighter and it may well help if you have a reflector to reflect the light down.

I have a fluorescent strip and a led security light in the garage, the led one is great, it must be ten times brighter than the strip light.

I replaced the eight 4' 36W fluorescent tubes in my garage. with ten 4' 20W 7000K LED battens. Each batten is feather light, has 2 LED strips with a driver each end connect connects direct to domestic supply. No contest

I've got a couple of LED strip lights in my garage, they light it up well, and use little power. They were more expensive than a standard tube light, but worth it.

Yes - I have - I bought two LED garage lights from amazon - what a difference.

Will try to post a link to them

Edit - still not able to post links it seems

But if you google Amazon garage lights LED you get loads of options - the ones I used were the screw in ones with the adjustable three led panels. They do a motion sensor one if you want but I didn’t bother

The spread of light with these is incredible - and being able to individually adjust up and down the LED panels is so much better than what we had before.

Simple to install - just the femail screw light socket was needed - there is a bit of rotational adjustment via the fixing thread and as I say each of the three LED panels is individually adjustable up and down.

Worth considering.

Are they a complete new light and do these do away with the round tube two pin light fitting?
I found these on Amazon
