Default Door Card Clips

I am just calming down after buying some of the white plastic door card clips off Fleabay and finding out that they are completely *@"!ing useless!

The door cards are a faff enough to fit, getting the flange along the top rear of the card to engage behind the metal clips behind the waist seal. After getting it in position, I found that each plastic clip self destructed as soon as you tried to push it in the respective hole.

The door card is on (just) for now, but I want to sort this properly. I have a bag of 20 "Christmas tree" style clips for the hole near the door button. These are yellow plastic and seem OK. Could anyone recommend where to get the white plastic clips that preferably don't break.

Rimmer brothers, nothing else works on the top of the door card.

Thanks Trikey. The Rimmer clips are £2.22 each + P&P, so hopefully they won't break at that price!

Trikey is absolutely right - the originals from Rimmers work and are more like nylon than brittle plastic.

They work brilliantly and are well worth the money.

i purchased some of e bay prob same as yours (arrow shaped at the end) as they were a nightmare to get on to hold .. i found out that if you used a pair of small snips and took a slight bit of either end they worked a treat .. just a thought .. rgds mark

Just bought 8 clips for the driver's door plus a new escutcheon from Rimmers. £7 postage + £6 VAT on top. Total cost for 8 plastic clips and an escutcheon £36. Ouch.

Polyoxymethylene if you want the correct type of plastic

Whereas the cheap Fleabay items are made from cream cheese.

I use the white ones, on the top hole too, and have not had any problems. I just swapped the door cards on both cars so 8 door cards done, several white clips used to replace broken ones, and all tight as a drum.
