Question Rover to make a comeback?

Now I can't remember where I heard it, I think I was doing something other than really listening to the conversation

But I'm sure I heard someone mention that an Indian (don't hold me to that) company is planning on bringing back the rover marquee?

Correct me if I am wrong but don't ford own the rover brand name?

Please do correct me if I have misunderstood something I may or may not of heard lol.

I'm now gonna search the inter web lol

Tata own the name and Jaguar Land Rover. There is rhumour of a small car and using the Rover name as it sits in with the Land Rover name well, Ford bought the name to protect the Land Rover name when they owned it. In all honesty I don think if will happen. Dacia and Skoda worked as cheaper spin offs within the industry for their owners but I don't thing JLR is quite at a point where this can happen. Would love to be proven wrong though

This is a thread I have long awaited to see pop-up, has made my day cheers for that.

I reckon is could actually happen, Tata have transformed the fortunes of Jaguar Land Rover since taking over, now its time for the Rover brand.

We have already seen the comeback of MG by SAIC Motors, anything is possible.

Then we can hope that they mark 75's and bring down the price of parts.

Yep, the price of parts is exactly the reason so many are scrapped.

Some of the Land Rover parts that fit our vehicles are half the price to that of the MG Rover equivalent.

Its shocking.

Agreed, always worth a double check before buying, I remember buying a headlight unit glass for my XJ6, the one that fitted was £17, the one with Jaguar etched into the glass was £43, identical parts otherwise.
