Diesel Engine Cleaners Prior to MOT
One of my Diesel 75’s has just failed MOT - mainly due to ‘Emissions’ level. After a new Filter and a lot of heavy throttle a load of muck has been removed , Emissions improved a lot - so keeping fingers crossed. To be fair , it was SORN for 6 months and rarely turned over. Anyway , point is , it has been suggested to me that there are some specialists ( garages ?) which offer a service to put a Diesel through a series of processes / services to specifically optimise on emissions ( efficiency too ?). Does anyone know of organisations offering such service. I live near Guildford , Surrey but can , of course , travel - but if there is a ‘Home’ service that would be splendid. I have another Diesel and would like to have it treated before MOT.
All the best. |

have you tried injector cleaner?
I had a very smelly tourer, used injector cleaner and the first journey was to its mot which it flew through on emissions and no more smell. fill a new fuel filter with injector cleaner, run engine for 30 seconds, switch off and leave over night, next day drive it like you have stolen it. This was the advice I was given macafee2 |

Warm the engine fully, then drive to the MOT station using the gears to keep the engine speed at 4500 rpm, and ask for the emissions to be tested first.
