small hole in a CDTi Flexi Catalytic Converter
Hello. I found some traces of smoke on the flexi section of the catalyst of my 75 so I presume it's time to find a solution before things will getting worse.
What about those https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...frcectupt=true sold on e-bay ? Can do the job or I need a new Catalytic Converter ? Thanks in advance. C.Gigante

I used this on a hole in a washing machine drum. Never let me down.
And I've used it to patch holes in an old enamel sink

You can buy the flexi section separate , or if you use a dremel to cut the mesh away the actual pipe underneath is a corrugated steel pipe.

your bottom rear engine mount needs checking, when they go it causes extra movement on the flexi joint causing premature failure.
If it has gone, my advice (FWIW) is to get the proper Diesel mount. Its got stiffer rubber that the Petrol mount which although identical in appearance, is cheaper and has softer rubber. |

I changed mine on Wednesday, for a stainless steel slot on one from eBay, as the 3 down-pipe bolts are a pig to remove even with a high torque impact wrench. Great Service had it within 18 hours of placing the order. One thing I would advise is check the diameter of the pipe at the Cat end of the Flexi against the pipe going into the cat. I my case the were exactly the same, so ended up having to chop the new Flexi and weld it on. Luckily I had the use of a Four poster, or would have mean dropping the full exhaust.
Flexi pipes can’t be repaired as it’s the thin steel concertina pipe that usually cracks. My cars 16 years old now so I think it’s done it’s time lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
