That's the one. It was rattling loose. So my question now is with a egr bypass fitted is it better to blank the vacuum at the other end where it joins the t piece near the fuel pump. Thus removing the control valve from the vacuum system.

The vacuum pump is bolted on to the end of the exhaust camshaft, inboard of the battery, so follow the pipes from there and you will be fine.

Must check mine before before I burn a few litres of Otto's nectar on my way down the A1 to Sherwood, perfuming the air for the sensitive olfactory lobes of the petrol-heads en-route!

Well, what are the chances? I received a text from Colin yesterday saying that he almost crashed his car as his car didn’t brake very well and his pedal went hard. Low and behold, he found a hole in his vacuum hose which caused it. He cut this small length of hose off and reattached it and brakes are now as good as gold. Crazy. Just days after it happened to my 75. I think he thinks I tampered with his...
