I’ve only travelled in a stretched limo once and wasn’t overly impressed.
Sitting sideways you have no protection even if the driver simply braked you were thrown sideways. Purely a gimmick to give an extra thrill, personally I would prefer a nice large car with proper seating and seatbelts for any such occasion. |

What are the regs in this country regarding stretch limos? Is a similar accident only a matter of time over here?

Limo safety
Not entirely sure about legal advice on limo seat belts but a while ago my wife and I along with other parents hired a limo for my son's prom do about 8 of them in a Lincoln I believe but ALL had seat belts either lap or normal 3 point belts so it can be done properly

Most of my cars in the past (nothing amiss with them) have shown some distortion when jacked up at a corner. My Granadas I seem to remember would feel different when in the air, trying to open and close a door. My 75 is the only car I have had which shows not even the slightest twist or distortion when jacked up at a corner. It says a lot for the rigidity of the 75's body shell, but we all knew that anyway.

In a former life I inspected vehicles for the Police. I have never inspected one of these american import limo’s. However my colleagues have and many of these vehicles were very poor. They would not be my choice of transport.
I guess they are sold to us near the end of their useful life. |

That was quite normal for cars of that era, they were very lightly built of poor quality steel. Which was why they rusted away so very quickly.
