Yes, the SNP are by far the leading party in Scotland at the moment, but should Scotland gain independence, why would they vote for a party whose main purpose is to achieve independence? The protest vote if you like. Surely the main line Scottish Tory and Labour party's would become more aligned to Scotland's needs, and the SNP would quickly drift into insignificance.
Then there's the question of a second poll, last time round, I voted for independence. But I can see absolutely no sense in being freed from UK rule, only to have it replaced with EU rule. Therefore I would imagine, that even if we got a second Indy vote, it might go the same way, and be more decisive than the last.

I understood your post, parties that start off as single issue parties often spread their wings and people quite like what they say so continue voting for them. Once they form policies on things like transport, health, education etc they become a broader church and have more appeal. Of course nothing is guaranteed but it's unlikely if people like what they see in terms of them running things pre independence they would drop them like a hot potato post independence.
