Not sure if this meets criteria Jeff but I am proud to still be a non smoker six years on after many attempts and fifty years of smoking. If anyone is considering stopping talk to goabout a drug called Champix it really helped me give up thank goodness. Do not press thanks button I only did what I should have done after first packet I bought. My thoughts with you and your mum jeff

Thumbs up Positive thoughts.

Hi Jeff,

I didn't log on yesterday, so only found your thread today from the negative thread!

So I just wanted you to pass on on to your Mom a big Positive hug from me.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Tom.

That's a brilliant example of will power after 50 years sir
I've just achieved 9 years without, after approx. 40 years of smoking. In my case, the decision to quit was made a tad easier as made it whilst in intensive care after a heart attack - not reccommended, but effective in providing an incentive.

And I can celebrate 20 odd years of not smoking, started at school like many did, smoked casually through late teens and gave up about19/20, never smoked for long enough or regularly enough t become addicted. Smoked cigars very occasionally in my late 20s and early 30s,but quit totally after the kids came along. All the best to your mum Jeff.
