Default Rover 2.5 V6 Connoisseur Petrol Fuel Pump

Hi, Can anyone tell me what year/models of of Rover 75 2.5 V6 petrol Connoiseur fuel pump are affected by the fuel filter separation problem?

I have a 2001 version of this model and have recently begun to have starting problems which the RAC have told me might be fuel starvation.

The problem may be worse when the car is facing uphill and also when the tank isn't full.

Thanks.

I have a '51 reg model (made in May ) and it is not affected . There was a long discussion some years back here :

The filter change appears to have taken place in late 2001 , but a car made earlier than it was registered can still be ok

Here is a photo of the type which is not affected . I believe the two rings or lugs on the top are the thing to look for :

Thanks for the info and help Chris. I have a '51 plate model first registered in Oct 2001. The car is booked into a local garage tomorrow 14th March. At least I now have some guidance about what the pump might look like and photographs to show the garage. Cheers.

Here's another photo for you Wibb. Note the reference in the text to the lifting loops.

Don't let your garage sell you a fuel pump (or claim it's the head gasket) without first coming back to us for diagnostic information.

to the club by the way.
