Wanted KV6 Inlet Manifold
Anybody got a working KV6 inlet manifold for sale...
Just missed out on one on ebay. E-Car Parts don't appear to have any new ones listed at the moment - thinking I'll take a punt on a second hand one. |

Hi There,
I have one. I have just removed my KV6 2.0 75 engine with 128k due to HGF, but the Inlet Manifold is fine, and has just had refurbed as new VIS motor fitted 6 weeks ago. (Removed the manifold, throttle body and associated bits and pieces as was going to keep as spares) Let me know if you are interested. Many Thanks/Best Regards, Lloyd

arnt you going to need it for your new engine, you should be able to negotiate a discount on the replacement motor if you dont have the manifold as the seller can raise a few quid selling it on,even if you cant, why fit a replacement engine with an unknown manifold that is renown for problems when you have a recently refurbished and known good one you can put on your car.just my thoughts...

Hi There, You raise a very valid point there, I honestly hadn't considered using it on the replacement engine due to the blocks I have sourced for potential purchase have been complete units, and lower in my mileage than mine also.
My VIS motor is refurbed but not the inlet manifold itself. Hmmm. Also I guess the proceeds from selling it would help offset my escalating cost of repairs, but I do accept your point, better the devil you know with my own current manifold..... Have today seen a ZT V8 engine, gearbox, prop shaft, diff etc all for £900, now that would be a plan! Thanks again. Quote:

LOL, indeed. Ive taken it as far as I can with my current high street insurer, in terms of making my 75 look like a ZT, and thus more 'nickable' when the engine conversion is complete, Ill be calling Adrian Flux

just do what i did with my grandads old 1957 ford 100e(but you could use the 75 bodyshell),build yourself a chrome moly tube chassis, drop in a supercharged NOS injected big block V8,add wheellie bars and parachute etc(required for regs)and youve got yourself a road legal car that can run 9.2second 1/4 miles at nearly 170mph and cant be beaten off the lights by 2 wheels or 4.
i should just add the 25grand also required and about 3 years of your life. |
