Thanks Chris. It's a bit of a saga but briefly: Slipped over onto the marble floor in the bathroom, knocked out with fractured skull and top 3 vertebrae fractured. Out of it completely for a week when they put the pieces together, then memory blank for days. The Royal London Orthopaedic is a place of reverence and magic! Now well on the way back but doddery. Decided to put a self-ban on driving until I can convince an instructor I am safe - in about 3 weeks time. It's a bu..er.

As such I am today stepping down as a moderator.

I am not doing this because I have been asked to, nor that I have done anything wrong as I have not.

The club rules are perfectly clear.

I am stepping down as I no longer can be bothered having to read and moderate the biggoted, xenophobic right wing drivel being spouted by certain members. I have had a traumatic time health wise recently and thanks to these guys I get very little pleasure in this club any more - at a time when really I need it.
Life is more important than this.
Just seen this Simon. If your feeling stressed or put down by certain individuals here, yes call it a day. Certain cancers feed on stress, something else you should not have to worry about. As others have said, your health is more important.

sorry to see simon step down moderating.
Always thought him to have done a great job.
Sad that in a club of enthusiasts that the issues he outlined exist.

Really sorry to read this, Simon.
We had the chance to say hello at POL a number of moons ago:-) .

If I have learnt one thing from the pandemic, it's that life really is too short to have to deal with aggravation one could do without!

Thank you for all your hard work in support of the Club - look after yourself!

All the best,

Nicholas/Zircon

Wow, what a disaster. Take it easy and get well soon.
Best wishes
