The cost of a gallon of petrol
This is grim reading
Diesel £1.81 a litre (depending on where you buy) 4.5 litres to a gallon. 1.81 x 4.5 = £8.15 a gallon. macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 4th June 2022 at 18:51.. |

My closest station is showing £1.93 for a litre of diesel and £1.91 for E10 petrol (mind you, it is consistently the most expensive station in my area). How soon until that number is over £2? I have also recently noticed myself thinking that anything below £1.70 is a really good price...

That was another reason for me selling the Bear, my V8 ZTT 400. When i attended the Frimley breakfast meet it was a round trip of 380 miles. I had to fill up to get there and fill up to get home. Those with a nervous twitch look away now.
Cost £130. Oh! But the noise was worth it.

First part time job I had at College was working at a local petrol station (1976)
2 star was 35p a gallon 3 star 37p a gallon 4 star 38p a gallon If you look at inflation over the years today for example 3 star would be around £2.45 a gallon Just shows how taxation has increased massively over the years that and how much we're being taken overcharged Russ

Anyone having thoughts of going electric due to fuel prices?
My driving has changed, I drive slower, probably accelerate slower and without doubt try to combine journeys. I have been surprised how may miles I am doing. macafee2 |

But
The cost of charging vehicles is rising fast as electricity prices rise. There's a worldwide crisis looming and governments are doing little to try to stop it.
