Nor fussed about that, as long as the picture is good, I'm sure technobods can work out the speed from the footage should they need to, after all that's how gatsos work.

GPS can be useful.

Last time I was in France, I was flashed by a speed camera on the motorway. I wasn't speeding, but because I had bikes on the roof, the camera thought I was a lorry, according to a French friend. He said that once they reviewed the photos, they would bin it.

I never heard anything, but it's still useful to have the video footage showing speed and location.

I have a 522 plus the rear facing "eyeball" the thing to remember is you need a decent memory card as two lots of images use a lot of memory.

I use Blackvue cameras by Pittasoft in both of my cars. They have lasted for several years and have been in several cars in that time. Mine are older basic models but the newer/higher end ones have GPS and bluetooth so you can download footage to your phone without removing the memory card.
Mine have saved me more than once including when my ZT was written off last year, and once when my MGF was sideswiped. The insurance company changed their tune immediately. I was even able to provide footage as a witness to someone else's accident, saving them a lot of grief..

I've had a nextbase 312GW dashcam for a few years now & it's just stopped locking onto the GPS satellites It works perfectly fine but you don't get the GPS positioning when uploading it to the software map on the PC, I tried to update the software via the update option in the software but it says the dashcam isn't connected .Anyone else had this problem?

Hi Ian. I suggest you get in touch with Nextbase itself. When I had a problem with the battery in my 402G series about 2/3 years ago, they sent me a battery to solder in myself. No charge.I bought this camera when it first came on the market, so it was a few years old. It still works, but I have just bought a 500 series camera, all singing and dancing, It has Alexa, and if you have a bad enough accident ( I hope I don’t) it automatically phones the nearest police station, and thereby ambulance. I would not buy anything else but Nextbase cameras.

It might be worth cleaning the connections between the mount and the camera.

Is the power lead definitely connected to the mount, not the camera?

Or, have you used it in another car with a non-GPS mount?

Thank you bl52krz & daveo138, I'll check if it's properly connected later as I did take it down the other week to clean the screen.

BINGO! When I took it down to clean the windscreen the other week I'd put the power lead into the camera socket instead of the GPS mount socket Thank you.
