MOT pass 😊
Hurrah, my 21-year-old (almost 22 from date off assembly-line) Cowley-built Club SE passed her MOT today!
I must - in addition to to my thanks to Terry of TS Autos last week, mention my local father-and-son garage in Guildford, Ford Mechanical Services (nothing to do with a certain make of car!). Located in tricky- to-find premises in Slyfield Industrial Estate, David, the son (Tony is the father), unfussily and very reasonably, corrected the hold of the handbrake and replaced a couple of indicator/repeater bulbs that were deemed no longer amber enough for the MOT tester. Oh - and David regassed the replacement aircon radiator installed by Terry last week. Now lovely and cool ❄ If you need a helpful, reasonable garage near Guildford - that also specialises in welding repairs, I unhesitatingly recommend this firm. All the best, Nicholas/Zircon Last edited by Zircon; 29th June 2021 at 10:11.. Reason: Corrected name of garage |

Thanks everyone!
Considering I have 'run' more than I have driven this last year, I was surprised at the issues the first (particularly zealous?) tester found. He didn't seem to like the greased brake pipes - which are done after all to prevent corrosion. Only advisories, I know - but you feel a bit like a parent being told by the teacher that your child's behaviour could improve! And indicator lamps losing their 'amberness' - surely that's a judgement call?! |

I just got a fresh certificate on mine this morning. One advisory, nearside headlight beam on the cusp of being out of line so I'll have a look at that. She clocked 158,900 on the journey.
