CV Boot help, not Rover
So I'm helping my son replace the front discs and pads on his Corsa C.
Having removed the nearside wheel caliper/carrier and disc we found that the large end of the CV boot was off of the cone, broken band. Now I have never removed/payed with a CV joint so all I wanted to do was put the boot back and secure using large cable ties just to last a couple of months until the service/mot (late October) Problem is we can't get the boot over the cone Has anyone got any tips/advice? Steve

We have move over to the offside brakes and noticed that the CV boot there does NOT appear to be as far on as where we are trying to get the nearside boot too.
So how far does the boot have to go on? Here is the actual problem, does the boot need to go upto the speed sensor notches? or just the grooves slightly inboard? Steve

The answer is at roughly 7:00 mins. The boot goes up to the cone but not over it.
