Three sides
A quiet day today, as far as the Rover was concerned, just fitted the warning triangle to the boot lid.

Gave mine a wash and dry and then a coat of DoDo Red Mist (bling) over the recently applied Collinite 476.

Sorry for the late reply. It's been a busy weekend .
I got those from http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Roewe...OrigTitle=true 1 order gives you 4 of these little covers. If you search on Roewe 750 you can find some more interesting stuff that will probably fit in the 75 or ZT.

Spent today stripping my 75 down to reveal the clutch.
Took my time, and as such ran out of time. Play was ended early with a rain shower and my knee seizing up after a hard bash earlier in the day. New clutch kit is fitted to the flywheel at long last. Took an age looking for a syringe to fill up the shiny new slave cylinder. Tomorrow will be an early start on bolting her back up, routing the pipe for the new master cylinder and bleeding it through. Wish me luck.

I notice the AliExpress site gets you to Roewe xenon headlamps (copies presumably). Anyway, I had my front bumper off for a few days fitting a new CHRA cartridge to the Garrett, so thought I'd see how the Roewe 750 (copy) bumper fits. I've had all this kit for three years but been dithering about fitting it. I'm reluctant to spend more money making something that don't look right and from what I've read and now seen for myself, the headlamps look decidedly drafty. There's a varying gap all round, up to 15mm in places. I've read about some filler pieces to resolve the gap, but can find no info about them or how to get some. No reply Radioguy.
Anyway, I'm now wondering whether the Roewe lamps will sort the problem. I'm assuming they have the same mountings/dimensions as the 75, but would like confirmation, if anyone knows? TC Last edited by T-Cut; 29th June 2015 at 19:10.. |

Spent this morning fitting a new front lower arm after she failed the MOT last week on a worn balljoint...
Damn those inner balljoints are tight! I tried hitting it, then hitting it with a bigger hammer, then heating it and hitting it, then sticking an axle stand underneath and lowering the car onto it, then jacked it up and dropped it (repeatedly) onto the axke stand... then had a cuppa Plan B was to big out the various cold chisels and pry bars and batter them in between the arm and the subframe. Brute force and ignorance finally won out after getting a 2ft long cold chisel wedged in to place, sliding a length of scaffold tube over the end and then jumping up and down on it (with an axle stand under the balljoint so it still had the weight of the car on it too). A few minutes of bouncing up and down finally did the trick The fun and games weren't quite over yet though! As I've got powerflex bushes I'd hoped there would be enough movement available to get the arm off without unbolting the bush housing - but once they've been on a few years they lose the 'free rotating' effect they have when first installed and are as stiff as the standard rubber ones. So it was out with the extra long 18mm and ratchet spanner to whip that off too. All done now though, so back to the garage tomorrow to get signed off for another year |
