Default Momentous Day (it seem that way for me anyway)

Just after lunch today I have my second Covid jab. It seems like a milestone to me. I know we could well be looking at Booster Jabs for this coming winter, but looking back at my photo library to what we were doing this time last year - what a difference.

So I shall drive into Salisbury then walk through the garden past the very spot that the Skripal’s were nearly assassinated by the Russians and into City Hall where I had my first jab.

Fantastic organisation on the ground last time and of course all the way up through distribution, manufacture and Research

It’s not over yet of course - not sure it ever will be as we have to live with this now, but what difference a year makes.

At least we can see a point to this!

Just had my second in the village clinic at Caherconlish, Co. Limerick. Excellent organisation and treatment. We're used to a flu jab every year so I see no reason why we won't get used to a Covid one if that becomes necessary. We are hoping to be able to travel to Canberra in December to our son's 'mock' graduation for his PhD although by that time he will have had the degree for over a year! Jeremy

Mine was very much the same - much busier than last time back in mid-Feb. No doubt due to both 1st and more 2nd doses now being administered.

Organisation was superb at Salisbury City Hall - very impressive. What’s more - it’s clear that all those helping/running the system seemed genuinely happy and enjoying themselves.

Genuinely impressive service.

We are starting to plan another trip to Brisbane to see my niece and family - and then hopefully hire a Motorhome and tour up to Cairns as we have done down to Sydney.

Apologies if I am preaching to the converted but we would recommend a few nights stopover both on the way out and back. We flew back after just a three hour stop in Singapore and regretted it. Especially as Singapore Airlines usually has 3 nights for 2 offers - plus if you keep your boarding card it gets you discounts in most of the attractions.

Would certainly recommend Singapore Airlines and a stopover both ways in Singapore. China Town one way and Little India the other is a great way to start and stop your holiday!
