Hopefully someone will come and save them, if not it’s another icon that will be gone forever.

Not good news, hope somebody saves them.
My last Norton was one of the very first Dominator 55's with a wide line featherbed frame sold in the UK. The featherbed frame models were available for export only until the first of January 1954 mine was registered on the 1st of January still have the original brown log book somewhere the reg number was KFU224. Wish I still had it now, guess it would be worth quite a bit. Russ

I know the feeling well John if I still had half the bikes I used to have they would be worth a small fortune now.
But like you I really enjoyed having them. Had one of the original 1938 Triumph speed twins, a couple of very nice Tritons one with a very highly tuned 800cc pre unit engine , a Suzuki T20, Kawasaki S1, a couple of Tiger cubs, BSA B25 Gold Star and a host of others. Spent my bike days in Redcar with the lads from the Ritz cafe, did many thousands of miles would think nothing of setting off for Blackpool, Morecambe get fish and chips then head back, those were the days Russ

Still enjoying my 1938 BSA Empire star, owned it for around 20 years, still use it for work almost every day in the summer, all country lanes out to Finchingfield, popular today with 'modern ' bikers. Some days just have to take the long, indirect route home! Great bike just to jump on and dissappear for a few hours or so on the weekend.
