Default Parting with my Rover 75 Tourer.

Hi,
NOW SOLD.
I’ve been lurking on here for some years and must say I have greatly appreciated the knowledge and willingness to share that knowledge among the members. However, I have not felt experienced or capable enough to add to that.

I have loved owning and driving my Rover 75 Club (?). It is a 2002, manual 2.0 litre CDTi Tourer in Osmium Silver and had done some 105,000 miles when I bought it second hand. It was not in the best condition, and, even after some care from me this has deteriorated. It is now at 181,000 miles but I believe has many more miles to go with both some tlc and serious effort. Unfortunately, at my age, I am really not up to the task. It is therefore up for sale.

I have purchased another car and the part exchange quote was a joke. The attempt to sell via Facebook Marketplace has been unpleasant, stressful and I have abandoned it due to liars, time wasters and the general toxic nature of the medium. Note: I did not ask a lot of money, but was surprised at most of the reactions.

The major good points with the car are:-
Built during the BMW era so has the M47R 2.0 litre BMW engine and happily cruises at the speed limit.
Has had frequent oil and filter changes.
Recently replaced front lower arms and drop links.
New battery.
The car runs fine and has an MOT until 18/01/2024.
Removable tow bar.
6 CD changer fitted in the boot.
Note: TFL says this car is ULEZ compliant. I don’t believe it.

The bad points with the car are:-
Slight paint damage on front extremities.
MOT centre doubts it will pass emissions next year.
Remote central locking not working (but central locking with the keys does).
Previous owner has fitted an MG steering wheel (? Why?). I have the original Rover one ready to refit. I never got around to doing so.
Both front seats have sagged. Substantial damage on the driver’s side from the seatbelt.
Roof lining has come adrift.
Vibration from exhaust heat shield at 1800 rpm.
Rear bumper has a (badly) repaired crack on the near side and slight scrapes on the driver’s side.

The car is in north Kent in the Medway towns. 7 (the max allowed) photos are attached and more can be supplied if necessary. Viewing can be arranged. Only just taken off the road but no longer taxed or insured.

Make me an offer I can’t refuse!
