It's persisting down with rain now and looks like it's set to do the same tomorrow.........which is typical as I'll be doing a car install

Fighting fit thanks mate - well, actually, we're not fighting and we're certainly not fit either - but we're pretty good

Spent most of the day on the telephone to various members of the Club where I drink. Having been a men only establishment since it was founded in 1910 - we are going to have a Special General Meeting in September where the members can vote on whether or not to allow the ladies in.
I suspect the Meeting may well go on for some time

Thats what happened to our club.

Unfortunately for us it really was a case of desperate times and the club makes more money now being closed and taking rents off the surrounding businesses than being open

I've only been up there once this year

We aren't desperate yet, but our bar turnover continues to go down at around 5% per year. We still make a profit, only just though, and any substantial repairs needed to our elderly premises would mean us digging into reserves - and then you're on a steep downward trend.

We had similar at our social club in Nairobi Rod and they had to open up the membership to keep it going. https://www.mcc.co.ke The prices were put up, but with more income the facilities improved and it's somewhere for people to meet up in relative comfort and safety.

One tradition that wasnt changed and that's to keep one of the bars strictly for men only. I think it's an archaic rule and have never been in support of it, going in the bar with the toffs No photographs are allowed and we are not allowed to enter the club carrying a firearm
