Default Steering Wheel Repair/Replace

The cars not with me right now, it’s having some work done in the garage.

So here’s the only photo I have where you can see where the wheel is worn, the previous owner (I bought the car recently) had a cover that had seen better days covering the wheel. If you zoom in you can see where it is worn. What would you suggest, a repair or replacement?

The airbag removal is a straightforward process. The two holes you can see in the back of the wheel are where the airbag is held from via two torx bolts. The electrical connector is a bit fiddly to unclip and the airbag is in your hand.
There is a thread on here about how to swap the badge but it is quite involved and fiddly. In the end I elected not to.
Despite my reluctance to post, I got my wheel and airbag (separately) from ebay and the airbag was delivered. There is a black mk2 one on there now if you look.

You can re-dye your wheel, just get some smokestone leather dye and refurb it
