anyone know anything about this polisher?
as per the title, does anyone recognise this polisher and know much about it?
Its a cheap electric 3000 rpm 110 watt electric version, a brand I've never heard of. Single speed, and not DA. I'm told by someone who's opinions on this subject I respect it's not a lot of good, but I'm only planning on using it to make polishing with autoglym better, not expecting full on paint correction and swirl removal - just a nice shine. Just curious if anyone had one, or had some other opinions on them?

I've got something similar - useful for doing a 2/3 stage polish/protect/wax on the paintwork saves quite a bit of elbow grease. Not a professional polisher for paintwork correction type tasks really - but will help reduce mild swirl marks and hologramming with a decent polishing compound. The main bonus is being able to get a full 3 stage job done within a reasonable time when compared to doing it without (and being able to lift your arms afterwards) - just make sure to have enough of the polishing hoods so you can change them regularly as you go.

out of interest, is there any point in using autoglym sealant over the polish if I'm going to use harly wax over that ?

As no-one else has answered I'll have a stab at answering that - bear in mind I'm not an experienced detailer: I just know which things I've tried that appear to work well enough for me.
I usually use a second stage polish all over (after a going over with the clay mitt which really seems to make a difference). I'll use a g3 (more aggressive) polish over deeper scratches first. Once that's done I'm currently getting reasonable results using AutoGlymm SRP over that to seal the paintwork before applying a wax over the top. My regular routine through the year then is to do this in the spring and again late summer (sometimes in between as well if I have the time and inclination). In between I wash and top up the wax coat only. So my answer is - if your polish is just that: a proper polish rather than a scratch filler/coating then yes I'd seal the paintwork with something before applying a wax as the sealant will continue to protect the paintwork as the wax get's worn away (as well as acting as a scratch filler a bit itself) it lasts a lot longer than most waxes. Through the winter mine will get taken to the jetwash every couple of weeks - not ideal (but I don't scrub hard with the brush), but better than nothing: and the SRP from the end of summer appears to help protect it.

thanks, I have used autoglymn sealant before, and that's why I've usually stuck with many of their products, as I've always liked the results. i just wasn't sure if it was needed below a wax - certainly I've seen some adverts say you don't need the sealant if you are using their wax.
Plan will be to wash, use bilt hamber detailing clay, polish with autoglym SRP, and then it was down to either straight on with harly wax, or whether to use autoglym paint sealant first. Thanks for that though, sounds like worse case is you blow 8 quid on a bottle of paint sealant , so on that score probably well worth it

I'd say that the SRP is only a gentle polish and it's primary use is a sealant. I wouldn't really see a need to add an extra sealant over SRP - but I'm happy to be proven wrong - perhaps you'll get a longer lasting finish than with SRP alone. After wash and clay I use a more aggressive polish (e.g. Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Polish Step 2)before the SRP and just wax over the top of the SRP (twice if I'm being really obssesive).

I don't want to cut to deep anyway as will regret it - SRP being gentle is as well in the hands of a caveman like me
I think I'll just go with clay, srp then wax and see how it goes. that will last it until spring in my little world, and i can try something different then I reckon if needs be.

These are good for apply Autoglym srp or another filler heavy poilsh. They won't correct paint but are handy to have.
