Spares or repairs - may be useful donor car for somebody.
£250+

It's sadly going to the scrap yard this Thursday (22 Oct) unless it's useful to somebody else. They've guaranteed £242 if it's complete which has amazed me, but I'll be sad to see it go.

MOT report:-
  • Hole from corrosion at rear of drivers side sill. Just behind the jacking point.
  • Needs 2 front wheel bearings as they're noisy apparently, but I didn't notice any free play when I was checking out the ABS fault last week.
  • ABS fault - is the drivers side rear wheel bearing (I downloaded the diagnostic TOAF software). It had the passenger side rear replaced last year.
  • Hand brake efficiency poor - think it's probably the bracket that connects the front cable to the rears, the handbrake shoes, springs, and discs were replaced quite recently, and it was no better after that. The movement is free, but the lever comes up quite far.

Other bad bits:-
  • Aircon blows cold, but there's a noisy bearing somewhere you can hear at idle with the pump on, it's not horrendous but I know it's there.
  • Central locking doesn't unlock the driver door.
  • Crack in corner of windscreen (has been there for many years!)
  • Otherwise I think everything works, anything in particular you'd like me to check please just ask.

Good points:-
  • x4 Michelin winter tyres with reasonable tread depth left, circa 4-5mm. Some cracks in the tread (not sidewall) in one of them, but wasn't picked up at MOT.
  • 16" wheels, not much damage/kerb rash.
  • Recent starter motor.
  • Lots of material left on discs and pads all round, handbrake shoes and springs replaced not miles ago too.
  • Towbar fitted, got an extra number plate for the trailer.
  • Some spares my father gave me. Haynes Manual, original book pack, masses of paperwork etc.
  • Was owned by my father from around 2 years old, and I've had it for the last 3.
  • It's had the oil changed every 6000 miles in our care, it still has the original turbo (and injectors, fuel pump, flywheel, clutch etc).
  • Had the in-tank saddle fuel pump replaced a while ago.
  • ECU repaired for water damage from the bulkhead not draining a 3 years ago.
  • Has a FBH fuel burning heater I think
  • Electric windows all work, airbags all fitted, no warning lamps. All seat belts present.
  • Grey cloth interior, not too bad condition.
  • My father fitted a 'tune-it' plug-in tuning module to it shorty after buying it, which is still there.
  • 2 keys.
Kind regards,
Tom
