Tyre query.
The ZT has 225/45/18's,
Is it OK to fit 225/40/18's to the back as been offered a pair of Pirellies very reasonably priced.

Yes, I ran with the same set up for a while, ended up swapping them onto the front after a while though as I didn’t like the stance.

my view is no, I had 40's all round when I bought my ZT and it made an already harsh ride worse. changing to 45's was a noticeable improvement

No, you can't mix profiles as it upsets the ABS..........exact fault reported will be incorrect toothed wheel fitted to one or more wheels.
Plus 40 profile tyres not only look stupid, they wreck the ride Brian |

Don't do it.
Will look awful. 225 40 18 doesn't fill the arch as well as 225 45 18. 225 45 18 is the perfect size for the MG. |

I appreciate that Meteors are 17 inch wheels but fitting 225/50/17 has made an improvement to the ride of the Contemporary V6. That bit of extra sidewall makes a difference. From a vanity point they fill the arches a bit more too.

As above don’t do it the gaps look to to big and ride is harsher.
As Brian says ABS system will be upset due to the mismatch. Another thought could be insurance if anything happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
