Load space saloon vs tourer?

Just as a matter of curiosity, I was wondering if the luggage space in the back of a tourer is actually significantly bigger than the saloon when the load cover is in use.... The saloon can be a tight fit for camping stuff if you want to keep the cabin clear for security reasons (hence the load cover reference)
