My Son's D of E Diamond Jubilee Challenge
My son, Daniel, has just completed his Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award by finishing his qualifying expo last Friday. In the next couple of weeks he'll be signing up to do the Gold Award over the next twelve months
In the mean time, he has taken it upon himself to participate in the D of E Diamond Jubilee Challenge. This has been set up by the D of E to celebrate and commemorate the 60th anniversary of the D of E Awards. Entrants have to complete a challenge, set by themselves, in return for sponsorship and all of the money raised goes directly to the D of E Awards to help less fortunate children take part in the Awards. Daniel has decided he wants to climb Goat Fell on the Isle of Arran and he plans to do this in his half term week starting 15th October. He has to raise a minimum of £60 to participate in the challenge so, he has set up a 'Just Giving' page where people can donate to his challenge total. Now, I don't usually like asking outright for money and I feel quite awkward but, because I'm so proud of what he has achieved in doing his D of E Awards, I said I'd post this on here for him. We'd be so grateful if anybody would like to donate a small amount towards his challenge. The minimum he needs is £60 and he can raise as much as he can for the cause so, the more the better. Here is the link to his Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisi...elsdiamonddofe Here is a link to the D of E Awards Diamond Jubilee website for more info https://dofediamondchallenge.org/ Thank you so much. Daniel..............and his proud parents.

D of E
Congratulations on your achievement. It takes alot of dedication and hard work to complete these. I only managed the bronze and silver way back when until life got in the way and I never completed or even started my gold. Keep up the encouragement to complete the gold. The memories and experiences I gained stay with me to this day.
Willingly donating to a very very good program for young people. Enjoy the hike. JB |
