Found a reason for having a Tourer
I have now found a reason for having a Tourer. A weekend away for daughters wedding and DIY at a house for my sister.
Would have been easy with a Tourer. Rear seats folded down and so much space. A saloon just does not have the space capacity. With boxes of borrowed decorations and a box of tools plus other bits the boot and rear seat of my saloon were full and the caravan floor did not fair much better. My dad was an Estate man but my preference is a hatchback macafee2 |

I know for some, the style of the Tourer is not up that of the Saloon, but for practicality I don't think one can beat a tourer/estate. The size of the 75 Tourer accommodates most things, including three tumble dryers in one load.

I have a saloon but far prefer the look of the Tourer. My first 75 was a copperleaf Tourer Club SE. Looked fabulous but it wasn’t until after I sold it I realised I’d been bitten by the 75 bug!
Now, if anyone fancies a swap..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just used my tourer to transport a 1.8M tall fridge/freezer to my daughter's new house.
I cannot imagine that too many cars can do that. |

Last week I helped the ex move house. Took a removal van plus fourteen trips with my 75 tourer (loaded up to and on the roof) and her friend's 45 before I gave up - she was only moving from an average sized house to a flat!
Mind you, I also like the fact I can see where the back of my car ends. Most saloons and hatchbacks leave you guessing unless they have a spoiler fitted to the edge of the boot lid.

Have to agree with this ... I love my tourer and I've had 2 full size dishwashers in the back at the same time, but I think the rear of the saloon is just perfect in proportion and shape.

The shape of the salon does not lend it's self to being a hatch back but some cars I don't think you would notice. Some Audis for example, they have a sloping back, ideal for being a hatchback but no hatch back is made.
Is it am image thing? macafee2 |

I've had estate cars in the past but nothing like my MG ZT-T.
I miss my 18T Saloon but for carrying stuff and the ease of lifting in shopping and carrying things I wish I had bought one before. Have carried lengths of wood and all sorts of kit and still haven't needed to fold the back seat down. Plus if you go out somewhere you have somewhere to sit and can open the glass part separately which is very handy.
