Well my purpose of phoning Alan was to ascertain how many of the undertrays Hampsons still held in stock, I never broached the subject of a 'bulk buy'. I know that Hampsons continue to sell the remaining stock of undertrays on Ebay, so the available numbers are diminishing, albeit slowly.
If you just want one tray, give them a ring, their price is a lot less than you'll pay Xpart or Rimmers for the same part and the trays Hampsons supply have the six fixings fitted to the tray, they also come with the clip half of the fixing on the four holes which pick-up the row of securing holes in the bumper, you'll need to source the 'screw' half of the bumper fixing,

does anyone know how much the sound insulation helps on a diesel? I'm curious as I've added extra sound insulation to the doors as part of my ICE install, and was astonished how much quieter the car seemed - the only noise I detect now as i drive is a whistle and some resonance from my cheap pattern part undertray. Other than that it is like driving the Red October. I have an oem one ready to go on, just waiting for a more opportune (ok ok, warmer/dryer) day. I'm just curious if they do make a lot of difference if anyone knows?

I used this on my cheapo tray, and from running around for a few weeks without it and then with it, it did make a very big difference a lot more quiet.

not a bad price for that stuff either - cheers. I've used 10mm stuff before but not the 6mm. space is obviously what you have to think of though lol

I bought a relative cheapo Polish tray for £38 off ebay for my CDTi as the car came without one. The 6 side holes lined up OK (3 each side) but not the 4 at the front in the air dam. For the front fixings, I drilled through the existing 4 holes at the bottom of the air dam into the undertray and used stainless steel self tappers and washers to fix them. The undertray must lap over the underside of the Dam. When I remove the tray for an oil change, I will mount spire clips over where the holes have been drilled into the undertray to better locate the self tappers. I guess using a cheap undertray may not be as good as a sound proofed/heat treated genuine original, but at the time I coud not source one under £114! ED

I have read that some folk cut a hole for draining oil, not seen any pics of that tho.

If stock does run out, an order of 200 isn't beyond the realms of possibility for us to have them made again.
We're eyeing up a new premises with a bit more storage...
