No pics but I can tell you what/ how I made them. Scaffold board cut into three unequal pieces. Block of wood 3 inches thick by 2foot long, screwed to scaffold board at one end. Fix a piece of wood on the end of the board to stop you going off the end when you drive on it.Place on floor with the thick block of wood away from car wheel on the floor, and just drive up onto the ramp. had mine quite a few years now. Cost next to nothing. I am thinking of making another one now.

I bought the fixings from DMGRS about a year ago, replaced all but 2 of the originals with the new 1's. A couple of months later the last 2 original clips gave up on the way to work 1 night, leaving the rear of the tray dragging on the road. Not having any spare clips with me, or a decent jack, I found a high curb in the car park and drove up onto that, and reattached the it with 4 cable ties, intending to get back under the car when I got home. I never did get round to it and 10 months/12,000miles later, the tray is still holding ok...

Just attached mine again with 6 m8 bolts. Hopefully that will be the end of all this.

'Cut scaffold board into three unequal pieces'

The way I read it is the longest piece (A) is on the ground, the second longest piece (B) is bolted to A, and the shortest piece (C) is on top and bolted to B - thereby creating a 'staircase' with three steps. Is that right?

Hi.
For a long time between the two cars mine was attached with cable ties, totally reliable! I bought the Stainless bolt kit from Mat for the undertray but added much larger diameter stainless washers to increase the surface area holding the tray, again no troubles and a beautifully clean engine and under bonnet area.

Trouble with washers which are too large, if you hit a speed bump slightly too fast, the weakest link has to give way.
Either much bigger chunks out of the tray or destroyed clips

There's plenty of Stainless screws and bolts on the market but no one seems to make a stainless spire captive nut.

So for now we use OEM clips packed with grease on the subframe.
They last a good 10 years then.

Fitting new ones dry you are just asking for trouble

I find that if you fit a couple of the screws into the front bumper and then slide an empty 5 litre screenwash bottle under the tray it is the perfect height to hold the tray in position so you can fit the remaining screws with one hand. I've never had one come loose and it takes less than 5 minutes to fit using this method.

It is actually there to enable the vehicle to pass the 'Pass by noise' legislation. Without it the car is too noisy. The 1.8 being generally quieter can cope with the shorter tray. As mentioned it also has the added benefit of aerodynamics, fuel economy, and keeping the engine bay clean.

Steve.
