Ok My error. We both need those wheels on ours, but either way, these two are horny looking motors !

did a lot of work on the Dorchester today.

Just to recap, the ABS light is still stuck on, and the speedo isn't working.

So, courtesy of Tom Holland314, put a whole new tried and tested front leg, complete with the tested sensor on the car.

old:

new:

all clear for the new one to go in:

and fitted:

Also fitted my old comets again, as the Unions are going to make way for newer wheels. Have to say, the ride on these is better than ever before now. Smooth as glass, despite the looks not being as good.

The big question is did it fix the problem?

Alas no. Many thanks to JohnH for all this tireless efforts, and a hilarious day together, but sadly today was not our day. I fear this problem will end up scrapping the car, as I can't see how this can ever be fixed now, there is nothing left to change, and if it is the looms in the car then it is too big to trace back to find a problem. Sadly today, in my heart I beleive that once the MOT runs out, this car is finished.

Tony, don't give up quite yet, still some options to work on here so as said before - "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" and we cannot adopt the DILLIGAF syndrome to this. The gear will be procured from one of our top guys on here and then go the whole nine yards with the wiring side !

I don't know if you've already tried him so I will suggest just in case. Phil-T4 helped me with the weird problem I was having with my LSM in which half of the lights on my car all stopped working (defo an MOT fail). In the end he found it to be corrosion in my wiring loom, (a very big job) but he did solve it by cutting out rusted and burnt out wires with nice new wire!

I tried (and paid) 3 different garages before going to Phil and none of them could even diagnose it correctly!

Phil-T4 might be your guy if it is a wiring loom problem!

Tony, I've got diagnostic equipment here (not a T4, but nearly). If there's a fault other than the obvious it will show up.

Only down the road from you, would be glad to assist.
