Really does look stunning, Tony! You've made a massive effort, and it's been worthwhile!

thanks Fraser, the parts you have sourced for me on a number of occasions have played a part in it all for sure.

after a very soul destroying day yesterday on the other car, I thought I'd go for an easy win today. A fuel filler cap with a loop.

Only it wasn't. couldn't work it out. Good job 129c was there to help calm me down out of my blind rage.

Really had enough of all the frustrations now. No more updates for a while now, this is doing me more harm than good.

Oh Steve, poor old Tony is really on the edge with his cars, we tried to laugh as much as we could with the Dorchester yesterday, but he is really dissapointed with things, bless him.

I was going to fit my cap like this, but found a large rubber buffer where the tag fits into the same slot as Tony's one is, but I left it in place as on mine, the buffer works and the flap seems quite happy like it is. My car hardly gets used and thus the fuel consumption is fairly small requiring few visits for juicing at my local Shell garage.
This is a good thing to have btw, but not bothering with mine.
As far as cleanliness, as long as there is no corrosion on the filler neck or associated attachments your fairly safe. I reckon Tony left this for us to comment on, it;s about as clean as his mind really !

Don't panic Tony, all will work out good in the end.

Where did you get this from? (I want one with the rubber tail but was told they're not available any more)
