Default Abs

Right this has been going on for some time now & im no further forward
The ABS warning light came on & being a novice went through fuses & relays
etc with no joy....I replaced both front sensors but the light remained on so i got Brian over who plugged my connie into his T4...It showed the fault as being with the front passenger sensor which i again replaced but the dash light remained on...I then changed the actual hubs but the fault remains.
There as been moments when the light has gone out mainly when the car has stood for a while & while its out if i brake very lightly the ABS kicks in even at 10 mph..So is there anyone out there who have had simlar problems & if so what should i do

IF you are confident that you've done everything you can in that corner the next place to look would be the ABS unit - either the connector plug on the unit itself.

I'd try checking the gap between hub and sensor (what brand of sensor? hub installed the right way round? Have you got an ABS pulses when using multimeter) and then try cleaning up the ABS unit plug.

I agree with Jakg in terms of systematic electrical tests on the NSF sensor circuit only. Look for a pulsed output from the sensor, test cable continuity and inspect the ABS unit's connector pins.

Wasn't it established recently that it's the outboard surface of the sensor which faces the hub, not the tip?

Had a multi meter on & it was pulsing as it should....Surly there is only one way of fitting the sensor as the bolt down coller can only face one way
The 2nd sensor i fitted i filed down the the sensor a bit at a time to move it further into the hub as recommended by Brian but this had no effect

Sensor yes, hub no - can be fitted backwards!

How many pulses did you get? Were they equidistant on the wheel?
