Through the firewall
All,
I need to run a 0 Gauge cable, which is huge, into the cabin for my amp in the boot. I was using a much smaller amp 600W vs new 1500W amp, hence the cable changing. I had the old cable ran through a gromit in the firewall to the left stood looking into the engine bay with bonet up, the bonet latch cable seems to be what ran through next to it, i never put the first cable in. But my new AWG0 will not fit, and i am looking for another way through. Had a dig around next to the ECU appears to be a gromit with wires going towards the cabin, but not sure as need to take arch liner off to see where they go, i am hoping the emerge in the big bundle that is behinnd the glove box as it means i can use this route... I was also thinking just to drill the previous hole myself to the right size Any ideas/advice experience Anutz |

I think I drilled a new hole directly behind the battery tray on the outer firewall so that I could run the cable in the bulkhead where the wipers are, and then ran it through a grommet on the drivers side.

That Step Drill bit idea is nice, would need to drill from inside out as no room other way....

Success...
Used a step bit to widen the existing hole The Bonet release went through it , i detached the release housing under the drivers side by removing the mount screws and then the cable comes out easy. Main thing is AWG0 now fits with room and i did not have to drill new hole so step bit advice was spot on Cheers |

For reference...
All i need now is a gromet, will probably put something on the inner exposed metal as well to stop corrosion, but you can see i now have LOTS of room, could probably even get a 4/0 Gauge in there Last edited by anutz; 29th March 2018 at 07:30.. |

Going from Battery+ve to Boot....with 0AWG
Have got a fair bit done now, running cable in the bulkhead, got into bulkhead by removing battery and there is a gromet i pierced and then ran under the ECU across to the brake fluid resevoir, and round into the hold i enlarged, then off to boot down side of the car etc... Pics show some of the work....need to still finish the wire loop to the terminal, but its raining.. Last edited by anutz; 31st March 2018 at 10:25.. |
