Thumbs up

Good to hear Harry, and that they eye test was not too bad.

Hopefully not so fraught the next time!

Well done Harry, I've only been without mine for 35 years but this gives me a lot of assurance I'll be able to carry on for many years yet.

Take care.

Cheers Jim, I'm always fraught mate, this is the third time they have imposed the test. Others at my age don't have it and I'm no more prone to disease of my good eye that anyone else is of theirs.

Optician did say I was singled out because I declared the ancient accident and that they would insist on me having the test every 3 years.

If everyone over the age of 70 was given the test perhaps I wouldn't feel so "got at"?. I never have liked anyone picking on me.

My brother-in-law also only has one eye. Lost it in an accident when a teenager. He passes no problem and I have been in the car with him and his wife, very careful driver.

It is not nice to feel that you are being singled out and picked on Harry, but you did the right thing in declaring the accident. By being up front about it you keep yourself in the clear, and your driving record speaks for it's self.

At the sight test common sense prevailed. As they say, "Illegitimi non carborundum."

Cheers,
Jim
