Finally have my new license from DVLA
Eye test was fine
The one eyed driver ( of 54 years) passed to drive another day...or more to the point 3 years if I live that long!!

Well done Harry, I've only been without mine for 35 years but this gives me a lot of assurance I'll be able to carry on for many years yet. Take care. |

Optician did say I was singled out because I declared the ancient accident and that they would insist on me having the test every 3 years. If everyone over the age of 70 was given the test perhaps I wouldn't feel so "got at"?. I never have liked anyone picking on me.

My brother-in-law also only has one eye. Lost it in an accident when a teenager. He passes no problem and I have been in the car with him and his wife, very careful driver.

At the sight test common sense prevailed. As they say, "Illegitimi non carborundum." Cheers, Jim
