Default Windforce catch power tyre

I've been given a nearly New windforce catch power tyre

Are they Chinese circles of death or alright ?

Thinking of putting it on the spare

As I couldn't find a review anywhere on the internet for these tyres, to quote Ralph Nader, it would appear that they are "unsafe at any speed" and more suitable to a wheel barrow, rather than a car.

I found a post from a 4x4 forum that said they were good but no reviews as such

If they did not meet our "Fit for Purpose" safety assessment then they would not be for sale. You pay your money and take your choice, I have been using so called "budget" tires for years in rain, snow without any problems. All depends on your driving style, if you want to drive every where at full throttle then stick to the £120 and above ones

Can't say I've ever heard of them.
As it's going on the spare then should be ok to use but be careful if you use it on the car as depending on conditions they me be as you say rings of death.

A single budget tyre would be best fitted on the spare wheel. If you'd been lucky enough to get two, no problem. I'd expect the CatchPower to be rather noisy (71-72dB range), though some of the other specs look pretty quiet (68-69dB). Personally, I only buy 67-68dB rated tyres, but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say.

Free! Is it round and black?
Spare wheel, no problem. Drive accordingly and remember to change it.
You should always be careful when using a spare, few are exactly the same as the tyres on the vehicle.

Sadly reviews from both the Manufacturer and an importer, both of which want to sell the tyre, is hardly unbiased! You need to find something like this review site www.tyrereviews.co.uk they have tyres I've never even heard of, but nothing about these, which would suggest the reason why you've been given the tyre free.

Always bit of a 'tin of worms' threads like these

But; having never heard of them and with a daft name like that; I'd personally stay clear
