Default Idle drops when breaking to a stop...???

Had the low miler for almost a month now and sorted the majority of the minor niggles but have noted a week or so that when breaking to a stop I've noticed that the idle drops when I hit the brake then when I stop completely and remove the pedal the idle increases to a normal rpm...

Any ideas anyone?

Is that '2.0' a diesel or a petrol engine?

Its normal if you take it out of gear or disengage the clutch when coming to a halt. Nothing wrong.

My high miler doesn't do it... its dropping more than expected, it doesn't stall but is certainly stopping the smooth idle I'm used to

Get it on T4 and have the RPM increased a tad.

If its an auto then the torque converter can disengage if you lift off the throttle and the rpm and engine load will drop to idle..

The weird thing is the idle is fine it only drops when I brake but when I come to a halt it goes to normal...

It's a manual...

Will put it on my OBD and see what the average and show the difference

Check all the vacuum pipes, both for leaks and coming adrift from their fittings.

As per Trickey's suggestion, I have increase my idling by about 40RPM and it makes quite a big difference. I do tend to put it in N when at a traffic light tough.

ooops, typing toooo slow.
