Have you told your insurers? I have always had excellent service from Autoglass in the past. I always went to the depot for my repairs.

Spoke to the insurers , it was use Autoglass or pay for it yourself ! sounds like they've closed a lot of branches and now use mainly mobile fitters ? shame as the local branch was only 10 minutes down the road .

I work for Autoglass and all the depots were shut approx 2 years ago, was a bad move on behalf of the company as we used to do a lot of trade in the depots

Although with the new adas systems on the newer cars we are having to open up depots again to do the static calibrations on the new screens

unfortunately the bookings in certain areas are not so good at the moment, if you lived in my local area it would be two days max, but some areas have got rather a large backlog of work at the moment

Have you tried getting a few quotes from local auto glazing firm.

A couple of years ago I had a vectra that needed a new screen and the insurance was a £90 excess but the local firm quoted £110, I went with the local firm in the end to save the hassle of telling insurance about the screen claim every renewal.

I had a Ford Fiesta and locked my keys in. I broke the small panel side winder and called autoglass and they wanted £150 for the repair

Called a local guy and he charged £50 (apparently the drivers window broken would have cost less which I now realise)

But..... when I had a cracked window screen and my insurance company covered me with window screen protection, autoglass came out and fitted one with no problems. It was a window screen with the rain sensor.

I think when I asked him he said it would have cost about £270 if I was paying and that was about 3 yrs ago.

Next door neighbour has just had to wait 10 days to get a new screen fitted by Autoglass under his insurance
Seat Leon FR - not exactly rare, so I doubt that availability was a problem.
