Default Back pain

My back was fine when I left the house to go to work Monday morning and stopped at Tesco on the way, but something gave out and it took me an hour and half to get back into the car and hour to get out of it so obviously had to call in sick then as I couldn't even walk at that point!!!
The other made me call 111 who obviously asked the symptoms etc and made me an appointment for an hour later...
Net result is I've been prescribed Tramadol, Diazepam and Naproxen...
I've never felt pain like it before...!!!!!

Sounds like a herniated disc - bl00dy painful but with rest and sensible exercise you will get your "life" back. I have had it twice and am now VERY careful what I do.

Last time was after I picked up a large, full, plant pot with just one hand and this lopsided strain on my back was enough to do it again.

If I had been sensible. Used two hands and bent knees - it would not have gone.

One thing I found is that laying in a bed was not at all helpful- sleeping was all but impossible. I found that sleeping on a settee with my back supported both at the back and underneath gave real relief from the pain - and most importantly enabled a good nights sleep.

Hope this is of help.

Tramadol is a satanic pain killer.

Please don't use it for any length of time tackleberry.

And please.....don't drive until at least twelve hours after you last took one.

Get better soon buddy - back pain is a nightmare.

Doctor should have given you lansoperal to take prior to the naproxen,as without it it can damage your stomach lining .l only found out this by accident after taking naproxen for a year without it.

Sympathy from me as well, having had such issues myself. However as said tramodil is not good, get off it asap, it messed me up!

Ive had all those drugs for the same thing. Be careful with all of them. My disc issue led to a trapped nerve then an operation called decompression which I had on 3 levels!! Which is totally successful. I now visit the gym 3 times a week and wore on my core muscles which holds your spine in place. It's life changing for the better! The above post ref lifting is so true. Good luck and don't hurry your recovery.

The leg pain is likely to be nerve pain from the back injury

Totally agree - what works for me is walking - having dogs means I have to anyway but we found that when SWMBO took over the dog walking morning and evening my recovery all but stopped. When I walked twice a day the improvement week on week was really marked.
