What is the general method used to get a photo into a post? Has it changed recently?

This is how I do it ……
When you are writing in the "new post" text box , look at the tool bar above the box . There is an attachment tool there . You can then browse for your photo amongst your files / photos and upload it to your post.

I personally prefer using a dedicated image host, but it's your choice. You can even use PhotoBucket for free again. Either way, the image posting methods remain exactly as they always were. There's still a HowTo around here if you look.

They emailed users a few days ago to say their new Terms and Conditions will allow free use for third party sites but the images will bear PB's watermark. If you want watermark-free use, it will cost about £10 a month as I recall. However, after disabling my Firefox fix, I can see all the previously ransomed images (in HowTos for example) without a watermark. Whether the watermark appears on images uploaded since the change, I don't know.

I think most PB users here went elsewhere for hosting. I did, but I still have loads of images on PB that couldn't be viewed during the ransom. So, I re-drafted umpteen HowTos using a diffrent host - and now they've backed down! I must admit, I find PB's interface much easier to manipulate that most others I've tried, so it's possible I might go back to them for certain stuff.

EDIT: I see there's no mention of the Free/Watermark option on the payment plans page.

I use Imgur ... Works perfectly fine for me and no watermarks.

If it helps, I use Flickr https://www.flickr.com for my good quality photos and videos. An example, Zebras: I copied the BBCode and pasted it into the box below from the Flickr site. Not difficult.

Morning Mist Tsavo East by philip Gate Keeper, on Flickr

I pay a low fee per year for photo bucket for fun stuff and giphs, but using the basic plan attracts advertising.

Here is a fun example from Photobucket. Trump and I Again, copy the BBCode and paste into the reply box here.... it is automatic for the forum, quite easy, but there are a lot of advertisements on Photobucket.

There are and it ruined the excellent site they had originally. I use a Firefox script editor ('NoScript' addon) to stop most of them running. The interface works much faster with less clutter.

So Gate Keeper, Ive opened a Flickr account and got some pics I would like to post on here. I eventually found the Bb Code - copied and pasted in to my forum post and hey presto!! Failed!! The code was very long and it turned red - not the normal blue link colour, so I used CTL and click but no go - no result. The photo was originally on Flickr Photostream, then double click to open, share, BB code then copy and paste it. What have I done wrong??
