Default Coolant in the vee

And once again I have coolant in the vee, dried in on the middle and left but a small puddle under the stat, so what do you think has gone, I made sure the clips were fitted correctly the last time after the stat opened up and the coolant poured out.
Thanks

Sorry Rob, can you clarify please? "Poured out" of where? And what do you mean by "the stat opened up"?

The weld popped on the stat and the coolant seeped out as quick as I tried to top up. Now I just have a dried residue in the centre and left between the web and around 10 mm of coolant lying in the right hand side below the stat

I can see dried coolant in your pic. However are you saying it starts to pour out with the engine running ???---

No that was the lat time this time I had to top up the coolant with 500ml of coolant and just had a look in the Vee and saw what was in the photo. I have had no change since

Hi Robert,

Looking at your photo, the straight pipe clip looks as if it's not fully to the right, i.e. hard up against the thermostat housing.

The left-hand clip needs to be similarly in contact with the water pump housing.

Rob, was that the stat housing itself that separated or the straight pipe that spilt? Do you know if it was the original factory fit?

I have my glasses on, but accounting for shadow and a small parallax error.....

I would say the Herbie clip is in contact with the thermostat housing as pictured.

Rob, are you saying the housing is leaking at the seam where the two halves of the housing are welded together?

No change since.

Do you mean the leak has stopped ???

This sort of problem needs close inspection.--Very difficult to analyse at long range.
