And yes, it was a bit of a pain, but it came out without too much persuasion. No slide hammer needed.

Good Luck.
Many thanks.
I'm going to check the guide out this evening and hopefully, fingers crossed I'll be ok!

Hi Richard.
Which injector is it your going to change, 1 2 3 4 another tip clean around the injector as much as possible before, so no debris can drop into the chamber once the injector is taken out, i rigged up a fine tool on the end of my vac to suck out the debris, but ear buds are good to remove debris too.

Most of the time it's the tip of the injector that is the problem, the fine holes can get blocked which does not give an even spay pattern.

1

Jamie's injector i changed was stuck fast even though the engine was hot it would not budge, so slide hammer had to be used,
2

It came out eventually
3

The chamber also need to be cleaned out, something else to think about should yours be the same.
4

5

Make sure the old copper Seals / Washers are removed with the injector.
6

Always use a new copper washer on the injector.

Thanks for the Youtube links.

I'll be honest, I'm not relishing the idea of tackling the injector change with the tools I've got ( i.e. I've not got a slide hammer if it proves to be stubborn )
plus If it goes really wrong, I could end up with a car off the road which I rely on.

I'll be having a good ponder on the problem before I wade in!

You have tried a bottle of decent injector cleaner? Forte comes well recommended - I've used it twice on two different cars to cure smoking at idle.

I did one of mine a couple of year ago with no dramas. Give me shout if you need a hand or even moral support.

*Tip* Start spraying now with a good penetrating oil like Plusgas.

I might pop up to make the tea.

Haven't seen anyone in ages and could do with a chance to help someone.

In a few days we're allowed:

Gov.uk:

From 29 March:

You will be able to meet outdoors either in a group of 6 (from any number of households), or in a group of any size from up to 2 households (each household can include existing support bubbles, if eligible).

If its bad weather on Saturday I''ll be putting the injector off to aother weekend, so if thats the case, it'll give me an excuse to fire up the BBQ,
so change a diesel injector and a hot dog or two?
