Just greased brake adjuster
Hi the rear shoe brake adjuster I just cleaned and greased it with red grease put it all back together then had the lightbulb moment.

Red grease is for use on things in close proximity to brake fluid. The handbrake linkage doesn't require that. I have Girling green brake grease for purely mechanical applications but I guess that you can use any high melting point grease, sparingly of course. Simon

Yes, that's why I said 'sparingly', even so, the handbrake will not get hot, it's not a service brake.
