Hi all.

Still waiting for the right tool to arrive for the EWS. I did pop the end cap off and it seems totally dry in there.

Are the orange bits normal, or are they rust from previous soakings?

Ok we appear to be sorted!. I'm sure the EWS is fine as it's totally dry in there, and no sign of water ingress.

I've spent some time going over the earthing points with wire wool, and checking fuses.

After changing the alarm fuse for another known good one - all my problems seem to have stopped!

Fingers crossed...

Smile Orange Colour

The orange is a lacquer, applied at manufacture, to protect against water and condensation damage.

Perfectly ok.

Prob a red herring but I asked about this awhile ago as it seemed to be the obvious solution to ECUs getting wet - put them in a plastic bag - but I was told it has to react with the atmosphere . . .
