Hi John,

Try removing fuse 4 from the underbonnet fusebox for 10 mins, this will reset the gearbox ecu.

See if that cures your issues.

mmmm seems torque converter
or maybe your af oil is low instead of removing fuse just take battery off 20 min turn lights on to drain any power or key in but defo check if that rest set helps

I am sorry i am not good on smart phone or computer in fact I am probably putting this in the wrong section but thanks for the advice to all. I have left the battery off for approx 24 hrs but no luck. I checked the plug with a multimeter and all the solenoids seem to fall within the limits (ohms) now I am getting really fed up I've just spent about £600 on it and I am considering scrapping it. It might be a bit of a problem traveling around in first gear everywhere if anyone has any other ideas thanks John

If you can wait until next week I can pop down an plug T4 in for you (Rovers diagnostics) And see what it says?

I would pop over sooner but I'm isolating due to covid until Sunday.
