Default Odd noise when cold...

...afternoon all.

A question for you. I have an odd rattle when my 1.8T tourer is cold.

I really don't think it's coming from the engine, it sound more akin to a piece of heat shielding rattling. The sound seems to originate from the RH front wheel area, and only happens when I set off, or at low speed.

It's been like this since I bought the car, but doesn't seem to effect the car in any way so it hasn't bothered me too much, but it's starting to bug me now.

Any suggestions chaps (and chapesses)?

Thanks

Hi Tim I think I had the same problem on my last 75 it was coming from a heat shield under car.

If not a Heat shield - possibly the Exhaust Downpipe Support Bracket - the Underside of the Clamp if corroded will allow the exhaust to move a bit and rattle

If/when I sort my Current issues - I need a complete new Bracket myself

Paul.

Checkout the first exhaust box too. I had it sounded like coming from wheel area til jacked up and tray off. Something loose (baffle poss) can buzz/rattle when cold heat expansion can stop is after a few mins. Hear shields too.
