BMW replacement for our PCV filter
If there's anyone else apart from me who's read about but not seen the BMW replacement for our R75 wooly PCV filter, here it is. It is a straight swap minus the holding clip as it just clips into place. Apart from cutting out another job - fit and forget - it also removes the slight tremor of anxiety while you coax the filter lid around the fuel line and those fragile T clips. I got mine from here.
at £19.54 but no doubt there are cheaper sources. It comes with the three gaskets as usual. Until our gurus say otherwise I see no reason for not fitting one.

I much prefer the filter type, I think a filter will be better for the engine than allowing particles to pass freely around.

I'm with Trikey on this one. A filter is better than no filter . Nothing wrong with the Vortex, but I prefer a filter on my Range Rover with the M57 |

Oh gawd . . . me wrong again. Slightly cheeky . . . but I Googled Freelander Forum etc posts and they all say on inspection "clean as a . . . " so I'll photo it in 2022 and let you know.

Remember that the top case part is also a service part too . Just give the vortex a rinse through with brake cleaner every 2/3 services and replace the top case at the same time. There is a valve in the top case that can fail, which is why it should also be changed.

Each to their own but I have fitted half a dozen of these to various cars with no problems at all, and the advantage is they can't block like the original design. |

If people are put off spending an additional £10-£15 every 2-3 years on servicing they shouldn't really be running a car. |

Mm, I think that's a bit hard . . . Seems to me a simple improvement in one less job to think about. Isn't the oil filtered enough when it goes through the larger oil filter + of course the fuel filter + whatever filtration Mr Shell etc does before we humble motorists get to buy it?
